The Brno Political Science Symposium is a traditional and well-established annual conference with a widely-recognized reputation in the field of political science. In 2017, we will follow-up on previous successful years with an analysis of current military and security threats emerging in the Central European region. The conference will be dealing with security-related issues, bearing in mind current international situation, worsening relations between the West and Russia, and terrorism.

The Symposium also usually serves as a traditional gathering of the most prominent Czech political scientists and has already earned a great reputation in the country as well as in the region of central Europe. Presence of top-tier political scientists from the Czech Republic and abroad is expected along with analysts, representatives of state institutions and policy practitioners. A media coverage is expected along with publishing an article about the conference and its key outcomes.

The conference will be divided into two parts. Whereas in the first part, invitees will try to identify the most pressing military and security issues, in the second part, including the discussion round table, panellists will introduce and propose policies aimed on tackling current and future threats and outline possible areas of cooperation in the region of CEE.
